THE LORDSHIP of JESUS CHRIST, Chapter 5 – He is the Creator of Heaven & Earth and all things Visible and Invisible
While the pagan religions in the days of the patriarchs, judges, and kings of Israel, all conceived of their gods as territorial, the God of Israel, Yeshua, declared that He was the Creator of all things and that He was Lord of Heaven and Earth. And He still is.
I suspect I was born with an over-developed sense of justice. From the time I was a child, if I didn’t think something was just or right, then it really upset me. Break the rules? Then you deserve the consequences that come your way, I thought – even if I didn’t verbalise it. I still vividly remember my annoyance in highschool at the teacher who told us we couldn’t wear jackets or coats over our school uniform in class (in snowy weather, mind you) – whilst he was wearing a fleecy lined jacket. “Unfair!!” my teenage-overdeveloped-justice screamed internally. Similarly the teacher who reminded us not to rock on our chairs, despite his own habit of doing so. Clearly perfection was a standard I unfortunately held teachers to, even if I didn’t meet that standard myself.
Earlier this week, the Australian Federal Government announced that they had downgraded their projected 2019 budget surplus by two billion dollars. And with the Tasmanian government’s announcement that they are considering spending $40,000,000 on upgrading the Derwent Entertainment Centre to be able to host a Tasmanian based NBL team, there were some locals who claimed that this was a waste of tax-payers’ dollars. These two news items got me thinking. What would our economy look like if our governments ran their operations like not-for-profit organisations have to run theirs?
