Senior Pastor (Full-Time)

This position is full-time with an appropriate and attractive full-time salary.

Legana Christian Church is seeking a new senior pastor for its next chapter. Our church has a reputation for being actively engaged in the cultural landscape of Tasmania. It hosts the bi-monthly Launceston Churches Together ministry leaders’ breakfasts which consists of leaders from Evangelical, Reformed, Charismatic, Pentecostal, Anglican, Baptist, and Churches of Christ, churches, and plays a key role in helping and coordinating joint ministry and evangelistic efforts in northern Tasmania. The church facilities are located on a hectare of land with car-parking for around 150 cars. Our buildings include a 400 seat auditorium, a multifunctional children’s education centre catering for an all-age (Pre- and Primary-aged) children’s “church”, a catering foyer which also hosts our weekly youth activities. The staff includes an office administration assistant, a book-keeper, two cleaners, an online discipleship facilitator, a media production editor, a groundsman, a Youth and Young-Adults pastor, and a Children’s pastor.  

 In 2023, Legana Christian Church affiliated with the Crosslink Christian Network. 

We are now inviting applications for the impending vacancy of the role of Senior Pastor of Legana Christian Church from those who may sense a call from God which corresponds to their spiritual giftedness and historic pastoral experience. Expressions of interests are now invited from those who are suitably qualified and sensing a call from God. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Pastor is the leader of the church. Duties include:

• Coordinating and leading the pastoral staff,
• Establishing the teaching ministry agenda which sets what is preached and taught through the Sunday ministry and the various small groups
• Giving pastoral oversight to the volunteers
• Working with the Governance Board and also with the Council of Elders

It is expected that the applicant will have some experience as the senior leader of a thriving church with a proven track record in overseeing pastoral and administrative staff.

POSITION VACANT
Executive/Associate Pastor

Legana Christian Church is seeking an Executive/Associate pastor to assist the Senior Pastor in the ministry of pastoral care and the Word to the congregation and community of the church.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Executive Pastor is an Associate to the Senior Pastor. The position requires that:

• Assisting the Senior Pastor coordinates and leads the pastoral staff,
• Supporting the teaching ministry through the Sunday gatherings and the various small groups
• Assist in giving pastoral oversight to the volunteers
• It is expected that the applicant will have some experience as an assistant pastor in a church with a proven track record in pastoral ministry.
