The Journey Of A Lifetime
Our children’s program is for all children aged between 3 to 12 years old. Commencing Sunday February 19th, we launch a very special three week program for kids who would like to go on an adventure! This will be “The Journey Of A Lifetime“.
Children will learn that life itself is a journey. Just as any trip requires planning and preparation, so does life. As important as the arrival is, the journey itself is often what shapes us and builds expectation for the destination.
Each week we will have a special guest story-teller relate how their mode of travel reveals something about life. Our first guest will be the Royal Flying Doctors’ For Tasmania Chief Pilot, Captain Andrew Roe. Children will be allocated seats and be given a “Legana Passport” which they can have stamped and thereby earn “frequent journey points” to redeem for some great awards including a full travel kit compromising of a backpack, headphones, neck pillow, travel wallet, luggage tags, and other essential journey items.
Sunday, February 19th – “Plane Trip”
-
Children can be pre-checked in by contacting our office or completing the Parental Check-in form.
-
Check-in on the day can be done between 10:30AM to 10:45AM (the earlier a child is checked-in the better their seat position on the particular transport)
-
Parents must be present at the ‘hand-over’ of their children, which happens after the check-in closes, when they will be given a computer-generated identification sticker enabling their child to be collected, which should be done at 12:00PM.

LEGANAAIR FLIGHT 1367 departing for The Journey Of A Lifetime
After the children are checked-in they will hear a “Now Boarding” call over the P.A. system in our main building. Parents will then present their children for departure at our side exit which will be marked with “DEPARTURE GATE”.
Children then proceed up an external corridor to our Children’s Centre where their boarding passes will be checked and they will be seated in their assigned seats on our simulated plane.
Children will be given the Safety Briefing and enjoy some musical entertainment.
Unfortunately, the kids will have to disembark onto the ‘tarmac’ as there will be a problem with the luggage. They will then play a game involving packing a suitcase as a team. The members of the winning team will receive bonus Frequent Journey Points and be upgraded to our business class seating when re-boarding the plane.
Upon re-boarding the plane, they will be served morning tea snacks and drinks by our Flight Attendants as they hear a story from our guest story-teller.
Once we have reached altitude, children will be allocated small group locations around our plane where they will be led in a discussion about journeying through life. They will then complete a craft activity (assembling a luggage label and writing their names in it).
There will be passport photos taken for those children who would like to receive a passport and be eligible to claim their Frequent Journey Points Awards at the conclusion of this exciting series.
This will then be followed by a BBQ Spit-Roast lunch and opportunity to enjoy the Zorb Balls and Jumping Castle, or have their faces painted, or get their photo taken by Mum or Dad in one of our photo-booths.

On Sunday February 26th, the children will be taking off on a simulated train trip where they will hear from a Tasrail Supervisor about the role and importance of tracks for trains. They will enjoy a quality train ride snack-box as they experience the thrill of their simulated train ride.
Parents can check their children in from 10:25AM until 10:45AM, and may then collect their children at 12:00 Midday. After children board the train, they will enjoy a fun team game, then break up into age-appropriate groups where they will reflect on how life is a journey requiring hitching your cabous to the right train and travelling on the right track. Kids will then assemble a Travel First Aid kit to complete their Travel Backpack Kit.
