The Survey
of Christian Doctrine is the result of over twenty years of study
and ten years of writing, revision and research. This edition is the
second electronic one.
This volume contains study material covering thirty four major doctrines of Christianity. Each doctrine is overviewed with the intention of giving reasons for believing, not just a statement of what should be believed. In most cases, each doctrine chapter gives the history of the doctrine and its formulation process. In light of this some modern doctrinal positions are examined and evaluated. It is designed to give the reader a framework of each doctrine without the weight of lengthy technical arguments.
It has been organised into sections which have summary tests, while each doctrine is previewed with an assignment study. After all summary tests are completed, there is a final examination covering all thirty four doctrines. This makes it an ideal study guide for either individual or group studies. Great care has been taken to present each doctrine soundly. The reader is free to disagree with some details, but I trust that any disagreement is based on Biblical improvement, not Biblical bias.
